Eventually there comes a time during a PC’s life cycle it will get infected by malwares.  Some may not be very critical while others may cause extreme mayhem.  First and foremost action to take is not to panic.  You are allowed to curse and swear a few times but DO NOT panic because panicking just won’t help.

So you’re past the panicking stage even though I told you not to panic.  Well have you got your head together again?  I’ll assume that you do.  Head over to AVG and download the AVG Rescue CD.  There AVG Rescue CD comes with two version, the CD version and the other one the USB version.  Hmm, in my opinion AVG should have also named the other version as “AVG Rescue USB”.

But enough with names.  AVG Rescue CD can be used to recover your computer even when the operating system could not boot properly after a highly malicious attack.  The rescue tool can be used as a bootable CD or bootable USB and after cleaning your PC with the help of it’s comprehensive administration toolkit.

Furthermore, apart from removing malicious items from your PC, the rescue tool also provides several other features such as:

  1. Midnight Commander:  A file manager.
  2. Windows Registry Editor:  To edit the computer registry.  Use this feature if you only know what you’re doing OK.
  3. Test Disk:  A tool that helps to recover your hard-drive.
  4. Ping:  To test if your computer can connect to network resources.
  5. Common Linux Programs and Services.
