Ever wondered whether a particular movie was worth the money or whether a certain book was a good read or even the new album from Justin Bieber is any good? Snap a photo and let Kooaba answer your questions.
Searching using images is latest “in” thing at the moment, if you’re using an iPhone or an Android that is. You only have to take a photo of the item. The Kooaba image recognition system will then process the images that you have taken and the specific information relating to that image will be available to you in just a few seconds.
For mobile phone users this application would make it easier for you to search then using using the conventional search of typing. Being a small device typing on the touch screen can sometimes be quite troublesome. Snapping a photo and then sending it to Kooaba would only take seconds to complete.
To use Kooaba’s service you have to install the application first on your iPhone or your Android mobile. After installing the application you can access the service with your mobiles.
The Kooaba image recognition system can recognize pictures taken from different angles so you do not only have to take pictures directly in a straight angle. Furthermore the recognition system can also recognize pictures even if there are obstacles covering the image. If you’re taking a picture of the item where it is crowded, don’t worry the image still can be used for searching.
What’s even more useful with Kooaba is that you can register an account and create your own personal library. With the images in your library are given the opportunity to evaluate and recommend to your friends about the products over social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
For those who have programming skills you can use the Application Programming Interface (API) from the Kooaba website and create your application. The programming languages that are accepted are languages such as Ruby on Rails, Python and Cocoa for Apple devices.
There is also an alternative to Kooaba that provides more or less similar services to them and it is called SnapTell. The service can also be used with the iPhone or the Android. Both of these services are free to use.
Now who would like to sponsor me an iPhone?
